Nisa Asokan is an idea collaborator, sound collector,
librarian, publisher, and former poet. Lately she's been sounds
with samples from her growing archive of live recordings, been waking
the dead in cemetaries, haunting the coast of North Carolina, and
collaborating as EMP
with some local ATL music projects including the Black
Blacks, Leb Blaze,
I Univac, faggotship,
and chinese
frankenstein.
She runs Fifth Planet Press / Tight Bros Network,
an independent multimedia publishing and promotions company. Non-Prophet
is a book of words published as a project for credits while
getting a masters in library science at San Joese State, in California.
She studied Narrative Fiction Writing at New York University under
Nicholas Christopher (dreamy) where she earned writing degree. Pillow
in the Kitchen, includes a CD with the recordings of Reasun,
a collaboration with Randy Castello, co-owner of Tight Bros Network.
During the day, she is a superstar news research librarian at the
Atlanta Journal-Constitution. An avid supporter of the arts, she
has been music director, vice chair, and is Board President of the
all volunteer run, Eyedrum Art
& Music Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia.
